Morgan Stanley US Tax Operations is a cross-divisional operational utility that supports Retail and Institutional business lines. Tax Operations is responsible for ensuring compliance with IRS & State Regulations related to US tax withholding, reporting, and filing obligations across Morgan Stanley's Retail and Institutional based clients and legal entities. Tax Operations is seeking a Director to support the U.S Tax Operations QA & Control testing team located in Utah. The Director will report into the NY based Team Leader. The purpose of the QA & Control testing team is to uphold the Tax Operations strong control environment by proactively identifying potential issues and promoting audit readiness. The primary function of the QA & Control testing team is to conduct tests of production activity to ensure WM and ISG Tax Ops processes are working as designed. The testing will also include control tests focused on, but not limited to, procedure maintenance, supervisory evidence, entitlement reviews. The primary function of the role is to manage the day to day workload of the onsite team, assist with test plan design, execute on testing, manage the tracking of testing, and compile metrics/senior management updates to report on results. This role will also include ad-hoc projects that will contribute to the success of the Tax Department’s control related initiatives.
This is a challenging position that requires strong organization and process management skills. In addition, this role requires excellent trouble shooting, execution and communication (written and verbal) skills.
